GILBERT, Ariz. - Messiah recorded yet another road win over a top-10 opponent last week, and the defending champion Falcons maintain a stranglehold on the No. 1 ranking in the Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Coaches Poll announced on Tuesday.
Messiah defeated The College of New Jersey 2-1 on Saturday for its third road win against a top-10 squad this year, and the Falcons have a 27-game win streak dating back to last season. Messiah captured 950 points and 45 first-place votes to take the top spot in this week's poll.
Babson moved up four places to grab the No. 2 ranking, followed by No. 3 The College of New Jersey, No. 4 Salisbury and No. 5 Tufts. The rest of the top half of the poll included No. 6 Montclair State, No. 7 Middlebury, No. 8 Hamilton, No. 9 Amherst and No. 10 Bowdoin.
The bottom half of the ranking featured No. 11 Skidmore, No. 12 Williams, No. 13 Franklin & Marshall, No. 14 Mary Washington, No. 15 Ursinus, No. 16 Rochester, No. 17 Christopher Newport, No. 18 William Smith, No. 19 Kean and No. 20 Trinity.

Six games between top-20 squads are on this week's schedule, beginning with a top-five matchup on Saturday as No. 4 Salisbury visits No. 3 The College of New Jersey. Other ranked action that day includes No. 5 Tufts at No. 14 Mary Washington, No. 7 Middlebury at No. 10 Bowdoin, No. 9 Amherst at No. 12 Williams and No. 16 Rochester at No. 18 William Smith. The week concludes with another top-10 matchup as No. 7 Middlebury goes to No. 2 Babson.
