Middlebury College stays at the top of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — Currently undefeated Middlebury College remains in the top spot of the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll. The Panthers are followed by four other undefeated teams — Messiah College stays ranked at number 2 and The College of New Jersey remains at number 3, Babson College and Franklin & Marshall took the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Making the biggest jump from the preseason poll was Bowdoin College (No. 10) — the Polar Bears had a two-win week with a 2-1 victory over the University of New England and a 6-2 win over then No. 18, Amherst College. 

This week will feature six top-20 contests. The highlight of the weekend will be the meeting of TCNJ (No. 3) and Messiah College (No. 2) — they will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Today, Tufts University (No. 8) will visit Babson College (No. 4) for a 6:00 p.m. contest. The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, September 18. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.
