Top-five shifts to include Tufts University in Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll

GILBERT, Ariz. — This week, Middlebury College maintained their top spot in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll with 1,111 points. Trailing closely behind, in second place, are the Messiah College Falcons. Rocketing from eighth place last week to number three this week is Tufts University — last week they posted a 2-1 win over Babson College (No. 5) in overtime, as well as a 4-2 win over Bates College. Rounding out the top-five is The College of New Jersey (No. 4) and Babson College (No. 5). 

It will be a tough week for Salisbury University (No. 6) as they face John Hopkins University (No. 15) on Wednesday and TCNJ (No. 4) on Saturday. Their top-20 contests are two of six that will take place this week. The game to watch this weekend will be between Babson (No. 5) and Middlebury (No. 1) — pushback is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, September 23.

The next Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll will be announced on Tuesday, September 25. The poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2018 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.
