GILBERT, Ariz. — The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is proud to announce that 76 programs have earned the 2018 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award.
The Division I National Academic Team Award recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester of the 2018-19 school year.
Brown University posted the highest team GPA for the third year in a row with a mark of 3.70. Following Brown on the list of the top-five performers is Sacred Heart University with a team GPA of 3.65. Harvard University and Yale University follow their Ivy League compatriot with GPA's of 3.64 and 3.62, respectively. Rutgers University rounds out the top-five performers with a team GPA of 3.61.
Three Division I academic awards remain to be announced — the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Squad will be announced on March 18, the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Scholars of Distinction on March 25 and the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Scholar-Athlete on April 1.
