This month's honoree, Sophie Thomas, was an essential player in Texas Pride's 3-1-1 month. Sophie helped lead her team to a second-place finish at the Northwestern Play Day, contributing to one goal and a solid midfield performance throughout the day. During the month of May, Sophie competed in USA Field Hockey's Region 10 Regional Futures Championship and was selected to represent Region 10 at the U19 National Futures Championship.

"She led our team and set up many of our scoring opportunities," her coaches noted. "Sophie has grown so much over the past two years and during the Northwestern Play Day, she really stood out and dominated her competition."

This spring, the NFHCA is recognizing club players and their accomplishments through the Club Player of the Month award. Athletes were nominated by the NFHCA member coaches and selected by a voting panel of NFHCA representatives.

The nomination system for the June Club Player of the Month opens on July 1, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. EST and closes on July 15, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST. Coaches must be a 2018-2019 NFHCA club coach member to successfully nominate their athletes. For more information about the NFHCA Club Player of the Month program, click here.
