GILBERT, Ariz. — Maddie Richie, senior goalkeeper from No. 3 East Stroudsburg University, and Dana Evans, senior forward/midfielder from Mansfield University, have been named this week's NFHCA Division II Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, respectively.
NFHCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week
Maddie Richie, East Stroudsburg University, Sr., Goalkeeper (Pilesgrove, New Jersey)
Richie recorded two shutouts in No. 3 East Stroudsburg University's opening weekend. Richie's first shutout came after she made one save in the Warrior's 4-0 win against Bellarmine University. She then followed that performance with three important saves in ESU's double-overtime victory over No. 8 Stonehill College on Sunday.
Richie was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week.
NFHCA Division II Offensive Player of the Week
Dana Evans, Mansfield University, Sr., Midfielder/Forward (Nazareth, Pennsylvania)
Evans played an integral role in Mansfield University's 2-0 start last weekend. The senior bookended scoring for the Mounties in their 5-0 win over Saint Michael's College on Saturday — she then notched her first hat trick of the season in Mansfield's 7-1 win over Southern Connecticut State University. With her five goals and two assists on the weekend, Evans now leads the PSAC in points, goals per game, and game-winning goals.
Evans was named the PSAC Athlete of the Week.
